What a fantastic day we have had celebrating Chinese New Year. We started the day by acting out the story of how the Chinese zodiacs were established and heard how this year it is the year of the Rooster. The children took their parents and relatives down to Reception where they listened to traditional Chinese music, made Chinese lanterns, ate Chinese food, made Chinese fans and explored using chopsticks. All the children were dressed in red, red is thought to bring good luck! Some children wore their traditional dress and looked fabulous.
A huge thank you to everyone who came, we had approximately 56 adults that we counted who came to join in our celebrations!
Kung hey fat choy!! (Happy New Year)
