Remembrance Day in Reception

This week the children have been learning about Remembrance Day. They have been learning about why we wear poppies and all children and staff took part in the two minute silence on Friday 11th November at 11am. They listened to ‘The Last Post’ and also watched a CBeebies animation about Remembrance Day. They explored the word ‘respect’ as part of this topic too and looked at lots of photos such as the cenotaph, poppy wreaths and pictures of soldiers. The children made their own poppies using fingerprinting and wrote a fact about poppies. We now have a Flanders Field display in Reception!
